Meet Phil Gillio

Landscape Project Manager

I never find myself looking at the clock and wishing for the day to end. It is usually me looking at the clock saying I can’t believe its time to go home.

Working as a project manager means I’m involved in many different steps throughout commercial construction projects. I do material take offs and create estimates for the work we are bidding on. Once a project is awarded, I am responsible for working with the customer and other contractors to create a functional schedule. I also deal with buying out all of the material to be used for the project.

Once the front-end work of the project is complete and we are getting closer to being on site, I coordinate our equipment needs and material delivers as well as manpower requirements. When the project is underway I communicate daily with the customer and other trades to ensure we stay on schedule and that we are meeting expectations. I also communicate with our onsite foreman to make sure he has everything he needs to be as successful and efficient as possible.

I love my job because it presents a new set of challenges and obstacles every day. It also gives me the opportunity to wear many hats and be an integral part of the company. The added bonus? Getting out of the office and putting boots on the ground at several different jobs daily.
